Semester reflection

General Long Answer: 

What are you better at now than you were at the end of the previous academic year? Name all of the ways that these improvements were made possible. 

Compare to the previous academic year I think that I am better now because during this last semester I have put myself is a lot of challenges and project that has helped me grow academically as a student now I am more responsible and critical at the time of doing an assignment. These improvements were possible by getting all the feedback from my professors and being able to fix all of the errors. 

What are you most proud of from the past academic year? Why does this make you proud? 

What I am most proud of from this academic year if from one of the projects that I did in the English class with was to make a PSA, and this makes me proud because while I was doing that project, I was able to gain knowledge from institutions that helps the environment and are beneficial for humanity.  

What went well this past academic year? What tools, supports or resources aided your success? 

I think that overall, everything went well this academic year and to make this possible I had to learn how to put more effort to the work that I had to do and I had to learn better ways to critically revise my own work. 

What did not go well this past academic year? What was missing that made this experience challenging or undesirable? 

In this academic year everything went well. 

What insight did you gain about your own needs for mitigating challenges? Where or how can you fulfill these needs in the future? 

One of the things that I had to improve this year was the ways that I had to do my assignments because I did not use academic sources and during the semester, I had to learn how to look for them and how to implement them in my work. 

What did you learn from overcoming challenges? How will you remember what you learned and apply it when a similar issue arises? 

From overcoming challenges, I learned to put more attention to the small details that can make  my work less academically satisfactory and by focusing on those details I have improved more. 

When did you feel happiest or most at ease this year? How can you experience those moments more frequently? 

When I felt the happiest this year was when I passed a test with a good grade and I did that by applying myself and I study hard for that and the result for that made me happy. And I can experience those moments more frequently by studying more in my classes.  

What moments are you proud of? What can you do to celebrate yourself? 

I am proud of the way that I am finishing this semester because I am doing good in my classes and this is something that makes me proud because this is the result of all the hard work and effort that I have put into this semester. And to celebrate this I am not going to do nothing I am just going to continuing working hard until I graduate that the I am going to celebrate.  

What new ideas, information, resources or research made a positive difference for you this year? What was helpful about these things? 

The thing that made a positive difference on this year was when I was doing the PSA and all the knowledge that we get from all the organizations that work to make a better environment and to help the planet. This has awoken an interest on me of wanting to help the environment. 

Short Answer: 

How has your understanding of the scientific writing process changed from what it was before this class? 

The scientific writing has helped me to know how to structure a scientific paper properly and this is a skill that in the future is going to help me in future classes related to the scientific field. Also, I have learned how to apply academic sources to it and how to develop them correctly. 

Where do you believe the scientists, primary responsibilities are, to fellow scientists, or to the public? Why? 

The primary responsibilities of scientists to fellow scientists and to the broader public. Scientists have a responsibility to contribute to the advancement of knowledge within their field. And Scientists have a responsibility to effectively communicate their research findings to the public in a clear and accessible manner. 

What was your experience with the PSA project? What do you think you learned from it? 

I had a very good experience doing the PSA because it was a really interesting assigment that helped me on how to called the attention of an audience at the time of doing a presentation and of how to make it more interesting.  

What was the most memorable example of forward-Facing Science (or science focused on explaining itself to the public)? What made it stand out to you and what did it teach you about the ability to promote science to the public 

The most memorable example of science focused on explaining itself to the public was the PSA and the way on how the group was focusing on make a scientific topic easy for an audience to understand and the intention of connecting with them to get their interest and attention. And it teaches me that it is important to know about institution that are focused on taking care of the environment.  

What will you most take away from this course, that could be applied to your future classes? 

I think that one of the things that I can take from this course is the way on how to do a research paper because is something that is going to help me on my professional career and this can be useful to be more successful at the time of doing this type of work.
